The Big Match Previewed - Arsenal vs Manchester United

Having lost in the previous Big Match, Arsenal will be hoping for a better outcome tonight when they play Manchester United.
Arsenal played much better against Chelsea than any other team for months. It was a disappointing loss for them but one that showed improvements very quickly into Mikel Arteta's reign. Mesut Ozil was bright and the trio of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Alexandre Lacazette and Reiss Nelson pressed intensely and caused lots of problems. Defensive errors cost Arsenal again - uncharacteristic for Bernd Leno - and that is something Arteta must finally sort out. Hector Bellerin is back but Sokratis is a doubt so the Luiz-Chambers combination will have to continue with Saka out of position at left back.

Manchester United are, somehow, 5th and only four points off the Champions League places. Solskjaer doesn't seem to me to be a good manager and they are only where they are because the rest of the teams are doing worse. Marcus Rashford has really established himself this season as a quality player, scoring 16 goals so far this season. He and Anthony Martial has been good of late and that should be worrying for Arsenal's fragile defence. United always look better when they can counter attack and, being the away side with Arsenal looking to dominate possession, they will be able to do that today. Scott McTominay is out and Paul Pogba hasn't travelled so midfield options are not great.

1-1 draw.
