Manchester United host Arsenal at Old Trafford with both sides needing three points more than ever. United need to respond to a poor performance at West Ham while Arsenal need to climb up the table and into the Top 4.
As far as team news goes, it is not pleasant reading for United fans. Rashford and Martial are out injured and Pogba is a doubt for this evening. Their attack looks set to be James, Pereira, Lingard and Greenwood. That doesn't strike fear into the opposition and once again raises the question as to why Solskjaer sold two forwards in Lukaku and Sanchez and didn't replace them. Arsenal are boosted with the return of Hector Bellerin at right back and Kieran Tierney could make his Premier League debut on the other side. Lacazette remains unavailable but Pepe's first goal for the club could enable him to push on and make the Gunners feel like they don't miss the Frenchman.
All signs hear point to an Arsenal win. Manchester United are awful and there's really nothing else to say. Earlier in the season, I did an article on United and Arsenal's Top 6 places being under threat by Leicester and other teams. But in my prediction, I still predicted United 6th. That was wrong. People need to start changing their mindset on Manchester United. They were the dominant team for 20 years so it will always be difficult to put them outside the top teams, but they now are. The likes of Ed Woodward are at fault for their demise, and it seems set to get worse. Leicester are now a better team than Manchester United due to better recruitment and a better, more engaged board.
Arsenal have every opportunity to win. If their attack is on point and their defence is okay (because that's all it has to be against United), then they will get the victory. Aubameyang is in terrific form and Pepe should start showing why Emery paid £72 million for him. That goal, albeit from a penalty, will give him a lot of confidence to kick on. Key players such as Bellerin and Tierney are coming back from injuries which will improve their defence beyond belief. But this is Arsenal, and it is never as simple as it should be.
Guendouzi has really stepped up his game and looks like a different man. He should impose himself on United's midfield and he shouldn't be afraid of Old Trafford. It is no longer a place that is universally feared. Away teams now feel disappointed if they don't at least come away with a draw. It reiterates just how far United have fallen.
Arsenal will win, in my opinion. Aubameyang will get two goals as the Gunners win 2-0. Nothing gives me any faith in United to get a result. Absolutely nothing. Arsenal should be (somewhat) embarrassed if they don't win.
