The first big meeting of the Premier League took place yesterday and saw Manchester United beat Chelsea 4-0.
Chelsea began the match better than their hosts and almost took the lead when Tammy Abraham struck the post. United benefited mostly from Chelsea's defensive errors - mostly down to Kurt Zouma - and they nearly went ahead as Zouma passed across the back and Rashford forced a save from Arrizabalaga.
The deadlock was finally broken when Zouma fouled Rashford and the Manchester United struck his penalty straight into the top corner. Chelsea, though, had the final chance of the half and hit the woodwork again, this time through Emerson.
Chelsea largely controlled the first half and continued that into the second, but their defensive insecurities were exposed by a clinical Manchester United side.
United doubled their lead when Pereira crossed for Martial to score from close range. A third came shortly after when Paul Pogba played a lovely through ball to Rashford who ran and tucked away his second.
Things got worse when substitute Daniel James' deflected effort found its way past Arrizabalaga. A nice moment for the Welshman who recently lost his father.
Chelsea offered very little in the second half and United's clinical nature on the counter attack efficiently exposing Chelsea's problems at the back.
Frank Lampard will need to see a reaction from his side when they face Liverpool in the Super Cup on Wednesday but Solskjaer will be pleased with how United played.
