It's the semi-finals nobody expected. Well, maybe Barcelona and Liverpool but not Tottenham or Ajax. We could have an all-English or Cruyff derby final. Anyway, read below for a preview of the two ties.
TOTTENHAM vs AJAX
After beating Real Madrid and Juventus, surely Tottenham represents an easier task for Ajax? Tottenham will be without Son for the first leg so will have to make do with Fernando Llorente up front - doesn't really spark confidence, does it? It's weird to say it but an Eredivisie team is actually the favourites to reach a Champions League final. Dusan Tadic will no doubt have a night to remember on his return to England, having had a hand in 53 goals in 51 matches this season. Extraordinary, much like his side.
BARCELONA vs LIVERPOOL
This is an extremely close one to call, but I think Barça will edge the encounter. They have Lionel Messi and, as Van Dijk said, no one has any idea how to stop him. Liverpool will be boosted by Roberto Firmino training ahead of the game but they know that if they want any chance of progressing, scoring an away goal is crucial and with Liverpool's attacking players, anything is possible.
So there we go! Two teams progressing who owe their entire philosophies to a certain man with the surname Cruyff. Yeah, never heard of him too. This final would put Frenkie de Jong in a difficult position, with the Ajax midfielder's transfer to the Nou Camp already confirmed. Regardless, we can expect an attacking, entertaining final from any of these sides. See you next week for the review!
